Offering my expertise to

diagnose, repair and

recover your hard drive

This information has been gathered since the

year 2000 as data recovery engineer.

I hope that this information will help answer some of the common questions associated with hard drive repair and data recovery. So what are the most common problems with hard drives?

Printed Circuit Board Failure (PCB)

These range from spindle IC failures such as overheating and even physical burn out of components. This could also be the aftermath of more serious problems such as the bearings of the spindle motor that rotates the internal platters locking up.

Spindle Motor Jam (STUCK)

As mentioned above this can cause all sorts of problems. You might even think there is no power getting to the drive and yet every time you try something new in the hopes of retrieving data, all you accomplish is more damage to critical components

Clicking Hard Drive (Head Crash)

This can be caused by several different scenarios from rotational speed causing the read write heads to make contact with the platters, which normally causes a ring or scratch around the platters surface. It can also be head slap or violent knocking of the armature causing the heads to become misaligned or unsuccessful parking from an improper shut down or sudden power loss.

System Area Corruption (SA)

This can be caused by several different scenarios from improper computer shut downs to sudden power loss. This is where changes are made to the system area of the drive while the drive is in operation. eg slow reads of sectors might be moved or marked in a defect list while in use. Although this happens without your knowledge these changes have a great impact on the drive’s operation and if these changes fail to complete or the drive loses power half way through these changes you will have corruption in that particular system area module and the drive will no longer be recognized, be seen as a different model, the serial number is no longer visible or seen as hieroglyphics in the computer's BIOS.

Quickbooks bad sector file repair

(Reconstruction)

This method involves the reconstruction of a quick books file QBW by identifiing damaged sectors in a file and using a older backup file to rebuild the file.

Old Hard Drive Repair and cloning

Old industrial manufatoring equipment for Printing or CNC cutting to name a few can be at risk of hard drive failure and this can deem very expensive machines that are no longer supported by the closed down manufaturer

Questions?

Would you like to know how to quickly diagnose the condition of your hard drives for resale? Would you like to use my service as your own discrete data recovery engineer? Would you like a one on one personal data recovery experience with the technician recovering your data?
